Tommy McGee
Tommy McGee

Scottish born prop, Tom McGee, is currently enjoying his second spell at Headingley Carnegie. His first appearance for the club came back in 2005 when he had a brief loan spell with the team. He made one appearance against Saracens in the Premiership before returning to Scotland. It was not to be the end of his time in Yorkshire however and Tom returned to the club ahead of the 2006-07 season as Stuart Lancaster rebuilt his side for their National One campaign.

He made his second 'debut' on the opening day of the season against London Welsh, before making his first start for the club against Cornish Pirates at Headingley Carnegie Stadium. He made a further four starts and four more appearances at replacement for the club over the season.

The following season he and was one of the team's best performing props, making 15 starts and a further 5 as replacement and by the 2008-09 season he was a regular in the first team, helping them to a second National One title.

Prior to joining the Leeds Carnegie team Tom has played for Strathaven RFC, Caithness RFC and Boroughumuir RFC, whom he won the BT Cellenet Cup and Division One with. Tom made his Celtic League debut with Borders in the 2003-04 season and that campaign made 3 appearances and scored 1 try in what was a difficult first year for the club, with the team ultimately finishing bottom of the league.

He built on this the following year and notched up two tries in his 12 games and that year was signed on loan for Leeds. He returned to Borders and in what was to be his final season at the club, before making a permanent move to Leeds, he established himself in the first team squad, making 18 appearances and scoring 1 try, to help the team to their highest ever finish in the league. Tom has also represented Scotland A.

Tom attended Thurso High School, where his favourite subject was P.E. Before a game he usually listens to his music to get him fired up for the match. If he was to choose an actor to portray him in his life story it would be BA Baracus.
