Stephenson of course has now moved to Yorkshire and will be part of the Leeds Carnegie squad taking on his old team mates. He was joined on the journey to Headingley Carnegie by number eight Daniel Browne. However, the links between the two sides are not confined to the Leeds dressing room with three former stalwarts of the Leeds team now playing for Bath.
Former Leeds captain Stuart Hooper has been establishing an impressive reputation for himself at the Recreation Ground and he has been joined this season by the top try scorer of all time for Leeds Carnegie, Tom Biggs, who has moved to the Recreation Ground after a year at Newcastle.
The final ex-Leeds man is scrum half Mark McMillan who enjoyed three seasons at Headingley Carnegie before moving to Wasps and then home to Scotland to join Glasgow. He was an unused substitute for Leeds at the Powergen Cup Final in 2005.
Bath have made some major signings in the close season to build on their late surge last season that saw them finish in the top four and narrowly miss out on a place at Twickenham after losing at Leicester in the Premiership semi final.
England skipper Lewis Moody has moved to Bath along with Sam Vesty from Leicester whilst McMillan is joined by fellow Scot Simon Taylor.
