Leeds Rugby Dual Code Camp another success

The week has been spent looking at core aspects of both games with boys developing skills and qualities from both codes of rugby. The Leeds Rugby Foundation headed up the camp with input from Leeds Carnegie's Steve Thompson MBE and Kearnan Myall both fresh from England tours in Australia and Canada respectively. The attendees also enjoyed a defence session delivered by Leeds Rhinos Academy assistant coach Chris Plume.

Leeds Carnegie Community Marketing Manager John Bentley, who has helped run the cross camp believes it has been a massive success, commenting, "I have been particularly proud of the way these players have taken on board, without prejudice, the other code of rugby. Having played professionally in both codes, I believe all young players should experience both, if given the chance, as there are invaluable skills to be picked up from both games which can really benefit a young player. I have also been impressed by the way these kids have conducted themselves in the professional environment of our rugby academy''

The Leeds Rugby Dual code camp is one of four Leeds Carnegie rugby camps to be held this Summer, we are hosting junior rugby camps at Keighley RUFC, Hull Ionians RUFC and West Park Leeds RUFC. Also coming up is our Be Your Best Residential Camp in partnership with Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons.
