The Thirsk club who were the only rugby club to attend due to them being treated to a special club morning and they were an absolute pleasure to coach. The players were given a tough start to the day taking part in a group warm up, then completing the now famous Leeds Carnegie Bear challenge which was met with quite a few moans and groans from the players initially when they were told what was in store for them, but the challenge was taken head on by the players and they all came through with flying colours.
The group were then shown specific coaching drills by each of the players with Joe taking a lead on a handling and passing station, Ollie leading on tackling and evasion skills, and Cameron pulling out a coaching master class looking at the contact area.
Throughout the morning the Thirsk players were playing with a smile on their face which was great to see, and as a final part of the festival the Carnegie players passed on advice via a question and answer session covering topics such as nutrition, lifestyle and being role-models.
