Leeds Carnegie endeavour to help each player within their Academy reach their full potential and we recognise one of the most important ways for them to do this is for them to have the opportunity to develop their skills and physical conditioning in a competitive environment, this we feel will best equip the young players in their development and in their ambitions to make the step up to the first team.
As there is no formal competition for the U19's the decision was made that it would be of great benefit to the players and the club for them to gain regular experience of weekly competitive rugby whilst on loan with a number of National League and Championship clubs, whom we have created partnership arrangements with.
The players continue to receive individual physical conditioning and technical development from the Leeds Carnegie Academy whilst gaining league rugby experience and game time.
Whilst on loan the players will need to prove that they have all the necessary requirements to play competitive national league rugby even at age 17, 18 or 19 and will only be selected for the clubs on merit, which provide the player with a great challenge. This is invaluable to the long term development of each player whilst supporting the playing strength of the clubs within the County.
The players continue to train full time with Leeds Carnegie and can be recalled to the first team at any time and are also available for A team and any additional fixtures.
