It is the first of its kind in the UK and benefits up-and-coming coaches in 29 sports, helping them reach the top and help boost sporting success for future British athletes.
As well as having the opportunity to play a high standard of rugby with the University, many of their players have earned the opportunity to represent Leeds Carnegie's A team and Development sides and have been offered trials with the club.
A number of Leeds Carnegie players have completed their studies at Leeds Metropolitan University whilst continuing their development in the team, with past pupils including Tom Biggs, Rob Vickerman, Joe Ford, Joe Bedford and current Academy stars Ollie Stedman, Joe Barker, Chris Walker and Oli Richards.

The University is split across two campuses; Civic Quarter and Headingley Campus. Their Civic Quarter campus is based in Leeds City Centre and the Headingley Campus is located three miles away, set in 100 acres of Woodland.
Leeds has a huge student population with over200,000 students, making it the biggest student population outside London. Leeds Met has 4,500 rooms available across their halls of residence, all located within easy travelling distance of our campuses and first year pupils are guaranteed a place in one of their halls of residence when they accept a firm offer from them.
